Defending Champs Metro Ice shuts out NEO Whoppers

Defending Warren AA Baseball League champions Metro Ice defeated newcomers NEO Whoppers 10-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Metro Ice secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the second inning. Warren Metro Ice scored on a single by Nick Zajaczkowski, a error, a single by DJ Morvay, a single by Sam Hockenberry, a double by Nick Capogreco, a single by Cameron Carson, and a walk by Jared Lee.

Jake Foster earned the win for Warren Metro Ice. He threw four innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, striking out ten, and walking zero. Garrett Mulrooney took the loss for NEO Whoppers. He pitched one and two-thirds innings, surrendering nine runs, six hits, and striking out two.

Hockenberry went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Warren Metro Ice in hits.
