The Ice defeated the Colebrook Elevator Marlins by a final score of 7-1, behind the 8 strong innings pitched by Kyle Watson. Watson, in his first start this entire season, walked a tightrope all night long, allowing 12 Marlin hits. Watson walked none to minimize the damage while striking out 7.
League Championship MVP Nick Zajaczkowski helped lead the Ice, going 2 for 4 with an RBI. Other notable performances were from Wes Wiltrout (3 for 4), Ryan Trimbur (2 for 5), and Nick Capogreco (3 SB, 2 RBI).
Tom Popadak pitched 8 innings for the Marlins, who was tagged for 7 runs, but only 2 which were earned. Popadak struck out 8 and walked 2.
The Marlins were lead offensively by Bobby Duley (2 for 4), Shawn Pelo (2 for 4), Tim Calhoun (2 for 4), Joe Hardy (2 for 4, 1 SB), and Mike Gadzalski (2 for 3, BB).
With the win, the Ice captured its 2nd league title in its 16 year history. The ice previously earned 2nd place honors in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 before winning their first title in 2014.
